Executive Director, Youth for Christ, Winchester, Virginia  My responsibilities included administration of this regional YFC chapter, conducting high school student activities, liaison with the school systems, youth evangelism, and youth guidance program for juvenile offenders. Responsibilities also included training of staff and volunteers and serving as chaplain at the Frederick County Juvenile Detention Center.

Pastor, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Chicago, Illinois  Responsibilities of ministry in the local church such as preaching, teaching, administration, counseling and administering the sacraments. I initiated many new ministries including; providing shelter and support for domestic violence victims, a food pantry which fed between 150-180 households per week, English as a second language classes, GED classes, a traditional classroom elementary school for grades K-5 that was approved by the Illinois Superintendent of Schools, and various educational efforts surrounding the issue of substance abuse and violence in an inner-city neighborhood that had one of the highest gang violence rates in the country. The church grew from 9-12 attendees when I accepted the call to over 175 when I resigned in good standing.
